Being a huge Dan Brown fan, I will always try to visit the places that he has mentioned in his books. Here is a place that was featured in Dan Brown's "inferno" (as well as it's film adaptation). Basilica Cisterns (Yerebatan Sarnıcı /sunken palace) is the largest surviving ancient cisterns in Istanbul. Built in the 6th century, basilica cisterns is a marvel of Byzantine engineering that lie beneath the city. Constructed using 336 columns, the cistern can hold up to 80,000 cubic meters of water. At the far end, there are 2 giant medusa-head pillar bases which the origin is still a mystery.
Even if you are not a fan of the book (or the film), its symmetry, eerie, atmospheric setting and sheer grandeur are reasons why you should definitely visit this place.

#地下水宮殿 是現今土耳其伊斯坦堡保存最好以及最大的古代地下蓄水池。這個在第六世紀，拜占庭帝國時期建造的地下水宮殿有336根#石柱 ，可容納80,000立方米的水。走到宮殿最裏面，會看到兩座來歷不明而且刻了梅杜莎頭像的石柱。
就算不喜歡丹•布朗的書或電影，這個內部宏偉，又帶有一點詭異和神秘的地方還是很值得一看。
